Born from fire and shaped in an instant, obsidian is nature’s most extraordinary glass. Formed when molten lava cools so rapidly that crystals never have the chance to develop, it carries a flawless, seamless structure unlike any other stone on Earth.
For thousands of years, obsidian has captivated civilizations with both its beauty and power. Armenia, home to some of the world’s richest obsidian deposits, stood at the heart of ancient trade routes, supplying this rare volcanic glass across vast regions and cultures.
Though best known for its deep, mirror-like blackness, obsidian reveals far more than darkness alone. Hidden within its depths are extraordinary variations shaped by nature itself—iridescent rainbow reflections, luminous metallic sheens, and delicate snowflake-like patterns suspended within the stone.
